Visit Bassin Paradise: Guadeloupe’s blue paradise

Located in Basse-Terre, near Capesterre-Belle-Eau, on the Grosse Corde river, you’ll find this incredible basin, which consists of a pool and a waterfall. With its small waterfalls, cool turquoise water and lush tropical vegetation, Bassin Paradise is a natural pool and a magical place to swim and relax. A little corner of paradise on earth where you can forget all your worries. There’s a small grotto to the left of the waterfall that’s well worth exploring.
What are the different activities you can do?
- Start with a short hike to reach this natural pool.
- Swimming at the Paradise Basin.
- Swimming at the 32° hot waterfall (200 meters from Paradise Basin)
- Further upstream, we discover a small pool of very hot water at 39°, near the Grosse Corde river.
How do I get there?
The Parc National de Guadeloupe has set up a pathway with signposts to get there. More precisely, it’s on the road leading to the Chutes du Carbet, between the bridge over the Grosse Corde river and the parking lot. If you’re driving, you can park your car in the park parking lot.
It’s a 15-minute hike with easy access. It starts with a steep staircase, then you follow the path thanks to the signposts. You can hike this trail on your own or with your family.
