Yunior Hurtado: Cuban painter

Yunior Hurtado Torres is a Cuban painter born in 1977 in Villa Clara, Cuba. Very young, from the age of 11, he studied fine arts at the school of professional art, Olga Alonzo, in Santa Clara, Cuba. During his apprenticeship, he learned to improve himself in various artistic fields such as painting, drawing, sculpture and engraving.
In 1996, he began attending the Oscar Fernandez Moreira Academy of Arts in Trinidad, Cuba. In 1999, he graduated as a painter, sculptor and art restorer.
In 2000, he was hired as a teacher at the academy. Then in 2003, he returned to Santa Clara, his native country, to teach painting workshops in a local art school.
Since then, the career of painter of Hurtado has taken off. He has participated in more than 20 group and individual exhibitions in Cuba and abroad, receiving numerous awards and citations. His works are widely collected in Europe, notably in Denmark. He currently lives in Lima, Peru.
