Olympic Fencing champion Laura Flessel named French Sports Minister
On May 17, 2017, former fencing champion Laura Flessel was named french Sports Minister in Édouard Philippe government, under the chairmanship of Emmanuel Macron.
Nicknamed the wasp, thanks to her ability to touch her opponents at the foot in a meteoric way, the beautiful Guadeloupean became known during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Indeed, she won 2 gold medals in swords, alone and by team.
