Kenyan painter Sammy Lutaya | Kenya Paintings
Sammy Lutaya is a self-taught Kenyan painter. These paintings cover cultural and socio-economic themes. In love with the African woman, he exhibited more than thirty paintings depicting scenes of life of the African woman. This magnificent exhibition is called Mind and Soul. His desire to paint was born very little. Sammy amused herself by looking at the sister marie (a nun) to paint magnificent pictures. From there, his passion for painting became a true vocation.
This artist succeeded in crossing the borders of his native country. It is known in Niger, Uganda, but also in Italy and Australia. He participated in numerous workshops in these countries. And he likes to promote the visual arts locally and internationally. He participated in numerous painters’ workshops where he taught young children the techniques of painting.
It uses different types of techniques:
- Oil on canvas
- Pencil work
- illustrations
- Ink and engravings
- Charcoal
For Sammy Lutaya, art does good to the mind and soul. He thus hopes with his paintings to create a feeling of well-being in the heads of the visitors.
