Forces for change: Meghan Markle breaks all records with British Vogue

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have remained very discreet since their retirement as a senior member of the Royal Family. We were all looking forward to hearing from this modern, ambitious and extremely talented couple.

On Thursday, February 13, 2020, Edward Enninful, the editor of the British Vogue declared on his Instagram page that guest edited by Meghan Markle is the “fastest sale” in the history of the magazine. He also adds that the magazine sold in just 10 days and that it was the best selling of the last decade. Congratulations to the British Vogue for this wonderful collaboration with the Duchess of Sussex.

“#TBT I’m thrilled to report that newsstand sales of @BritishVogue are up in the second half of 2019, but the real highlight for me is the performance of our September 2019 issue. #ForcesForChange, guest edited by The Duchess of Sussex @SussexRoyal, was our fastest-selling issue in the history of #BritishVogue ( sold out in 10 days) and the biggest-selling issue of the past decade. I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store”

British Vogue and Meghan Markle: a successful collaboration

The issue titled “Forces for Change” is different from all royal collaborations in that it featured inspiring and influential women who are fighting to make the world a better place. Instead of putting herself forward, Meghan chose to highlight all these talented women. The highlight of this edition was an exclusive interview between the wife of Prince Harry and Michelle Obama.

To celebrate the good news, Meghan Markle shared on the Sussexroyal Instagram page an intimate new video showing behind the scenes of her stay at Vogue. There is a great bond between Edward Enninful and Markle.

Earlier today @edward_enninful, the Editor in Chief of @britishvogue shared: “#ForcesForChange, guest edited by The Duchess of Sussex @SussexRoyal, was our fastest-selling issue in the history of #BritishVogue ( sold out in 10 days) and the biggest-selling issue of the past decade. I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store…” • To celebrate, we wanted to share this never before seen video behind the scenes with Edward and The Duchess of Sussex on the creation of this special issue. Please note, this was filmed last August in London. Congratulations to all of those who took part in the 2019 September issue, and huge thanks to those who supported and helped make this a success! Little reminder on the “Forces for Change” number

Guest of honor in the September 2019 edition of the magazine “Vogue UK”. Meghan Markle worked for more than 7 months with the editor of the British Vogue to design a unique issue that highlights the women who inspire her. Released in September 2019, the guest number of the Duchess in collaboration with Edward Enninful was a huge success. It sold at exorbitant prices on the Internet.

These fifteen influential and positive women were chosen because they each campaign in their own way for more tolerance, openness and justice in the world.

To watch the full #ForcesForChange video for the September Issue of @BritishVogue, guest edited by The Duchess of Sussex, please visit our IGTV. Her Royal Highness is the first Guest Editor for British Vogue’s September Issue and for the last seven months has worked to create an issue of inclusivity and inspiration, focusing on what connects us rather than what divides us. Fifteen women were chosen for the cover including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who generously lent her time to support The Duchess in this important issue. The women first met last autumn during Their Royal Highness’ official tour of New Zealand. Above, PM Ardern says: “One change that I’ve noticed over the course of my career, is just how polarised the world is now. I do think there is a solution to that though, and that’s ultimately us coming back to the humanity that we all share.” Thank you PM Ardern for being an amazing force for change. For more details on this special project, please see previous post and stay tuned for more updates throughout the week.

Despite the unjustified attacks and the controversies against the couple, we observe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle always stand out by staying the course on their future projects. We look forward to discovering their charitable foundation and the future collaborations they will make this year.
