Kareem Waris Olamilekan proves that talent is innate and has no age. Self-taught, he has drawn hyperrealistic portraits since he was 6 years old.
This Lagos boy is so talented that he quickly became popular around the world. At a young age, he became a confirmed Nigerian artist. Who draws as well as the professionals.
His dream is to become the next Michelangelo. Inspired by what surrounds him, he has been taking courses for 8 years at Ayowole Art Vocational Academy.
In an interview with BBC, he said:
“I draw my friends, comics. I draw illustrations from books and newspapers. I do hyperrealistic pencil drawing. I find my inspiration around me, especially with my family…. Me and my family work hard to have bread, to eat. That’s what inspires me. “
Very aware of the difficulties of life, he never stops working to improve his technique and provide for his family. His parents can certainly be very proud of him.
