Welcome Lilibet Diana: Harry & Meghan announce the birth of their daughter.
Afroculture.net shares with you some happy news. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family has grown. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their second child on Sunday 6 June.
This beautiful little girl is called Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountabatten-Windsor. Her name pays tribute to two extraordinary women, Queen Elizabeth and the iconic Princess Diana. The Sussexes’ daughter was born on Friday 4 June at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.
The happy parents expressed their great joy in a statement:

Why did you choose the name Lilibet Diana?
The choice of name is not insignificant. Lilibet was Queen Elizabeth’s nickname. When she was a child, she found it hard to say Elizabeth. So she was called Lilibet.
Harry and Meghan also chose the name Diana to honour Prince Harry’s mother. As you know, the Duke of Sussex adores his mother and honours her every day by talking about her to his children and through various charities.
The choice of names is a fantastic tribute to two important people who mean a lot to Harry.
