Jamaica: visit Bob Marley Museum in Kingston
When visiting Kingston, feel free to visit the Bob Marley Museum.
It is a 19th century colonial-style museum that pays tribute to the king of reggae Bob Marley. Marley was a legendary Jamaican artist. A talented guitarist and singer, he was one of the members of Wailers. He bought this residence in 1975.
In this house, Bob Marley and the Wailers founded their own music label Tuff Gong, and their recording studio Tuff Gong Studio. Bob lived there until his death in 1981. It is located in the beautiful Kingston neighbourhood of 56 Hope Road, under the Tuff Gong label (Bob’s nickname) that their albums were released.
Whose idea for the museum?
4 years after Bob Marley’s death, Rita, his wife, decided to create the museum in his honour.
