Hyperrealistic drawings by Nigerian artist Arinze Stanley
Patience, practice, and perseverance, these three words guided career and talent of the self-taught Nigerian artist Arinze Stanley.
Born in 1983 in Lagos, Nigeria, Arinze has been passionate about paper since a young age. Later, growing up, paper and pencil will become his weapons of expression to create change and speak on behalf of those who can not defend themselves.
He declares :
“My art is born of zeal for perfection in skill, expression and dedication to create positive change in the world
Dazzling hyperrealistic drawings
A little reminder about hyperrealism
Hyperrealism is an art that reproduces an identical image in painting or sculpture, so realistic that the viewer comes to wonder if the nature of the artistic work is a painting or a photograph.
Stanley is so talented that it’s hard to believe that these very realistic portraits are drawings. At first glance, we are convinced that they are photographs. Tired and inspired by his personal experience, he works very hard to make his fantastic drawings.
« I draw inspiration from life experiences and basically everything that sparks a feeling of necessity, I find myself spending countless hours working on an artwork to stimulate deep and strong emotions in order to connect more intimately with my viewers.”
« Most times it’s almost like I lose control of my pencils and the art flows through me to the paper..»
