The Basilica is the largest Catholic religious building in the world and is the most visited attraction. It is located in Yamoussoukro in the political and administrative capital of Côte d’Ivoire.

It is built on 130 hectares according to the plans of the architects Pierre Fakhoury (Lebanese-Ivorian) and Patrick d’Hauthuile (French). President Felix Houphouet-Boigny. Fervent Catholic, wanted to thank God with the construction of this place of worship.

This building has 8,400 m2 of stained glass windows, one of which represents the face of Félix Houphouët-Boigny. The forecourt is accessed by a marble walkway that crosses 37 hectares of French gardens. Inside, there are 36 magnificent huge stained glass windows.
